What is INTRAcel™?
Intracel RF microneedling is an FDA-cleared nonsurgical device that combines microneedling with radio frequency (RF) to ramp up collagen production as a means of treating skin laxity, wrinkles, pitted acne scars, enlarged pores, and stretch marks. It’s also known as microneedling RF or fractional radio frequency and can be safely used on the face and body.
Intracel’s micro-needles, combined with the radio frequency energy, signal the skin to create new collagen. INTRAcel treatments have minor discomfort and only minimal downtime.

What can INTRAcel be used for?
The results of INTRAcel™ Microneedling treatments help the skin look smoother and younger, reducing the signs of aging by tightening the skin and improving tone and texture. INTRAcel™ has also proven to be effective in diminishing signs of acne and acne scarring, as well as reducing large unsightly pores and unwanted stretch marks. INTRAcel™ also has dramatic effects on acne and acne scarring.
How soon will I notice results?
After just one treatment, your skin is stimulated to produce more collagen so will start to feel smoother and tighter with visible results showing after two or more INTRAcel™ sessions. Improvements are typically noticeable 6-8 weeks after treatment.
Treatments are specific to you, with one to three treatments normally being required. Your aesthetic provider will advise you and provide a treatment plan defined by your skin condition and desired results.
How long does INTRAcel™ last?
Results can vary, depending on the original quality of your skin and degree of damage. Normally INTRAcel™ treatments continue to improve the skin for up to six months for plumper, glowing skin and smaller pores.
Intracel Post Treatment Care
- The Intracel RF Microneedle procedure uses very fine needles to penetrate the very top layer of skin to inject RF energy directly into the dermis. The needles are very fine and the skin will close the micro-wound from the needle within hours, and healing will take place very quickly. You may notice some areas with very small dots of crusting that will slough off naturally in a day or two. Redness usually subsides within a few hours though some individuals prone to blushing the redness may take a day to resolve.
- Please avoid hot showers or saunas on the day of the treatment (gentle wash only).
- There may be a slight sunburn sensation for 1 to 2 hours after treatment.
- Use ice packs to provide relief of the treated area.
- Pinpoint bleeding is a normal skin reaction during treatment. Iit is uncommon post treatment. If it occurs dab with clean cotton pads to stop the bleeding.
- You can use makeup, shave and shower the day after treatment. Applying a moisturizing mask pack or using a moisturizing spray in the morning and evening may help to reduce the downtime swelling.
- There may be some crust formation for 1 or 2 days after a treatment, this is the normal process.
- Do not forcibly scrub nor use scrubbing agents or exfoliants. Gently wash the area as needed.
- Avoid using alcohol-based cosmetics for at least 2 days after the treatment. Remember to use moisturizer frequently.
- Avoid vigorous activity, exercise and sauna for 1 to 2 days post treatment.
- Apply a UV-A/B sunblock with an SPF of 25+ when outdoors and avoid direct sun if possible. Use SPF 35 to 50 if sunlight is unavoidable, as exposure to UV may cause hyperpigmentation of the treated area for some individuals.
